Geraint enjoyed a nice easy week after the Giro which he thoroughly deserved after a great personal performance. He is now back into training, and came over to see us in the UK for the Smithfield Nocturne in which he proved his great form was still there by winning the main race. "It was really good to come back to the UK to race and catch up with everyone. The party afterwards was pretty awesome as well. I lost count of the number of champagne bottles that where bought - I wouldn't like to see the bar tab!!"

Geraint flew straight back to Italy the next day to start a training camp on Monday 9th June, and all is going very well. "The first 2 days have gone well, it's good to get out for some rides with the other GB lads. I'm feeling a lot fresher and stronger than I did after the Tour last year. To be honest I've only just realised how tired I was after the tour, no wonder I didn't touch the bike for a while!!"

Geraint will be racing the Ster Elektrotour from 17th-21st June with Barloworld which he's hugely looking forward to and hopes to continue his form and bring back some great results. Geraint's comments on visiting Wales?... "Unfortunately I can't ride the crit in Abergavenny or GP Wales now. The next time I'll be back in the 'mother land' won't be until we go to Newport for a holding camp before the Games. This is probably a good thing as there are too many temptations back in Cardiff... "
